So, you can easily check out the standards in many chain businesses using a name search, or research standards in particular business types.

At the local level, you can check each week or month for recent inspections in your area, highlighting both the good (please!) and the bad. You might want to contact the businesses concerned for responses to the ratings.

Please bear in mind that the purpose of this site is not to “name and shame”, but to use freedom of information as a powerful tool to drive up standards. We want businesses with poor hygiene to improve (rapidly), not to drive them out of business!
